Restructuring Information

Valley View High School is investigating restructuring our calendar to better serve our students. Below is information on the proposed calendar and sample bell schedule on the restructuring. Flex Day plan replaces contractual after hour meetings except under extraordinary circumstances.

Intervention:
Parent contact, student interventions, other approved interventions with documentation.

Staff Enrichment: Staff directed and chosen PD sessions. There will be several options each meeting and staff will inform which trainings are offered.

Faculty Meeting: 5, faculty meetings at 89 minutes during restructuring , 4 faculty meetings of 60 minutes during restructuring, December and June meetings after the minimum day. On the 5 faculty meeting days of 60 minutes there will be 25 minute PLC or Focus Group meetings prior to faculty meeting. 4 minutes to get to faculty meeting on time.

Cross Curricular PLC: PLC groups may make arrangements to work in cross curricular groups if agreed upon by members of original PLC group. PLC topics and locations will be decided by Department Chair and Teachers and are to be Teacher/Department Chair driven.

All staff must arrive to meetings on time and move between meetings promptly as each 89 minute restructuring period will be split between 2 activities.

Sign in Sheets are not to be required, but teachers are required to be at meetings. Minutes of meetings may be required by administration and recorder should record names of teachers present at the meeting. The only exception to this will be a required sign in sheet for Faculty Meetings to ensure that all teachers receive the information presented at those meetings.

Minutes should be taken on a standardized form and submitted to the principal. Attendance should be included in the minutes
