Free Application For Federal Student Aid
The FAFSA is the federal application for financial aid, and it may also be used to apply for aid from other sources, such as your state or school. Other than applying for college, filing the FASFA correctly is the most important thing to do! COMPLETING THE FASFA IS ALSO A PART OF SENIOR CHECK-OUTS! Counselors are here to help you file your FAFSA. The deadline to file in California is March 2nd. Visit fafsa.ed.gov today to get started! Download this document for more information on filing the FASFA at home.
Federal Student Aid ID
This web site is your source of information for the Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. Your FSA ID can be used each year to electronically apply for Federal student aid and to access your U.S. Department of Education records online. If you receive a FSA ID, you agree to not disclose or share it with anyone. Your FSA ID serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal records. You should never give your FSA ID to anyone, including commercial services that offer to help you complete your FAFSA. Be sure to keep your FSA ID in a safe place. Students and parents need separate FSA IDs. Click here to create your FSA ID.
California Student Aid Commission
The CSAC website has information on eligibility requirements for Cal Grants. Cal Grants are funds for attending many California Colleges/Universities or Career/Technical schools (that you don't need to repay!) Completing a FAFSA is a requirement (see above). Information on Cash for College workshops and scholarships is also on this website. Visit CSAC for more information.
