Rafael Duran | Mathematics Teacher
Valley View High School
Rafael Duran has dedicated an extraordinary 29 years to Valley View as a math teacher, where his mathematical knowledge is surpassed only by his profound compassion and care for students. He consistently goes the extra mile, driven by a genuine desire to see every student succeed. His significant contributions to supporting our English Learner students, both in mathematics and across their academic endeavors, have been invaluable. Mr. Duran's ability to teach the full spectrum of math classes, from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus, speaks volumes about his commitment to all levels of students. Beyond the classroom, he has enriched our school community as a LASA advisor, an Anime Club advisor, and a girl's JV soccer coach. Notably, he plays an integral role in our school-wide tutoring program, is a vital part of our math department, and is a highly respected member of our staff.

Janet Willard has been a cornerstone of the Moreno Valley Unified School District since 1988, and a foundational presence at Valley View High School since its inception in 1991. Over her remarkable tenure, Janet has become an expert in every department within our school, demonstrating unparalleled versatility and dedication. Her exceptional work ethic and comprehensive knowledge of Valley View have proven indispensable. Janet is universally admired for her warm demeanor and deeply respected for her character and work ethic. She is an integral part of what makes Valley View such a great place to learn and work, and we are all profoundly privileged to have her as a colleague. Her longevity, expertise, and unwavering commitment have shaped our school community, and we are honored to recognize her outstanding contributions.
